Status: Buzzed. Waaaaaay buzzed
# of local ale's consumed to date: 4 or 5 (I've really actually lost count)
Today, we spent the day at the National Gallery.
Of course there were your big hitters, like Michaelangelo and da Vinci and Van Gogh, but there were some other really gorgeous paintings, particularly those of Renoir. I have a new found love for Renior. It is of my belief that the artists you love say something about you, so there's that for your judgement. I love Renoir. What does that say about me? ^_^
We tried to explore Piccadilly Circus, but MAN it was super hot and super busy. I wanted to go to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, but it was 25 pounds to get in and someone said something about a mirrored room O_o
I hate funhouses
Therefore, we didn't go in.
For dinner, we caught some more Wagamama. When they charge you 10 pounds for dinner, you really get your money's worth. There was a ton of food. A ton.
Then, my mother and I completed our Kensington Ale Trail. At the Prince of Wales pub, I had an ale that I can't remember the name of, but is was okay. It was a nice ale to start the evening off. We finished the trail with the Greyhound pub and I had the BEST ale I have ever tasted. It was called Nutty Black and if hadn't had enough for the evening, I probably would have had a few more pints of it. It wasn't too bitter, wasn't too strong, but it wasn't a weak ale either. I ADORED it. *sigh* If only I could find it back in the states.
So, completing my tour got me a T-shirt. Yay!
Now I'm pleasantly buzzed and I'm going to sleep.
Pip pip, cherrio and all that rot! G'night, mates!
when i went to this chicago art museum for the first time i was super pumped for monet and van gogh. when i got there, i felt they both were kinda let downs. i had read about them for years and seen as many of there works as i could. however, i had never liked renior in books. i just thought it was kinda dull (subject matter mostly) than his contemporaries. but when i saw his art in person, i was blown away! i just dont think his way with lighting can be captured in books... and it seems like you have found a similar love. :D
